Superstar quilt - 2022 BOM

Learn and develop your piecing skills whilst you make this beautiful modern quilt.

What's included?

The Superstar quilt is a 6 month block of the month course beginning on 1st March.

The class will help you develop skills, learn new ones and meet new friends, oh, and you will have made a quilt at the end of it too!

Each month a new block is released and for each block you will receive a PDF pattern of written instructions and diagrams with cutting and assembly instructions accompanied by step by step diagrams.

You will also get access to a mini class, fully demonstrating how to make that month's block.

There's also an exclusive Facebook group for Superstar quilt makers. You can share your fabric choices and blocks along the way. It is also a great place to ask questions, chat and meet new quilters.

The 6 different blocks that make up the Superstar quilt are made using traditional machine piecing and foundation paper piecing.

Finished size of quilt: 64" square.

Love the heart block, or one of the stars?
Why not use the block pattern and videos again and make a brand new quilt with your favourite blocks.

Hi, I'm Lou,

I love the world of modern patchwork and creating patterns and classes that are fun and easy to follow.

I've been designing patterns and teaching sewing and patchwork for almost 8 years now.

I have worked for many British sewing and quilting magazines, such as Love Patchwork and Quilting and Mollie Makes.

You can also find me teaching and running live sewing demonstrations for Vlieseline interfacing brand and on Sewing Street TV channel.

I look forward to sewing with you and helping you to achieve great results.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Basically, we make a quilt together over 6 months.
Starting on the first of March 2022, we will make a different block pattern each month and then by the end of the 6 months you will have learnt some new skills and tips, made new friends and have a gorgeous quilt as well!

When you sign up you will immediately gain access to the welcome lessons which include all the supplies requirements, a colouring page and further details on how the BOM will progress.

On March 1st we can start sewing up our first block!
Once you have paid, and so that you can access the course, you will need to set up a log in for the course portal.

Yes, but only until 17th April.

No. There are some great fabric mock ups above to give you some inspiration in choosing your fabrics.

Well, you will definitely need a sewing machine and some thread. On top of that you will need a cutting mat, rotary cutter and quilting ruler. You will also need access to a printer, so that you can print off the foundation paper piecing templates for some of the blocks. (A seam ripper sometimes comes in handy too.)

'Keeping up' is great and will help you to stay engaged with the BOM and other quilters. But, life happens and sometimes things get in the way of sewing time and that is totally ok too.

The blocks, patterns and videos are all yours to use however and whenever you wish. If you need to take a break for a month, that is fine, you can pick up where you left off whenever you are ready.
